Congress Works to Tighten Federal Criminal Law on Public Corruption

Congress is working on new legislation to close gaps in federal anti-corruption laws.

On July 28, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved "The Public Corruption Prosecution Improvements Act," which is aimed at strengthening existing federal criminal law related to public corruption and raising maximum statutory penalties.
