separate lawsuits brought under the Fair Debt Collection Practices
Act. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act regulates
how debt collectors must behave when attempting to collect debts. The
allegations range from misrepresentations on loan modifications to contacting
consumers after their debts were discharged in bankruptcy.
Based in Lewisville, Texas, Nationstar Mortgage offers servicing,
origination, and real estate services to
financial institutions and consumers. Nationstar’s
clients include national and regional banks, government organizations,
securitization trusts, private investment funds and other owners of residential
mortgage loans and securities.
