The mother of a 23-year-old woman who died when a car she was riding in crashed into a home swimming pool near Escondido has filed a claim against San Diego County.
The claim, filed this week by Kara Laxson, alleges that Calavo Drive — the road that fronts the house where the crash occurred — was unsafe when the car crashed shortly before midnight June 18. Her daughter's friend was driving.
