November is here and soon we will begin the holiday season.
biggest risk we take is when we get into our vehicles. Here in the states we are the land of personal
transportation and it sure does keep the automobile lawyers and auto repair shops busy, that is for
sure. Here are a couple of recent examples:
Tanker Driver Loses His Life In
Way, Washington the driver of a gasoline tanker lost his life a couple days ago
when he became involved in a 3-vehicle crash in on southbound I-5. On
November 4, 2012, staff writer Alexis Krell reported the story under the
headline, “3-vehicle crash in Federal Way kills tanker driver, closes southbound
I-5,” for the Bellingham Herald website. The Seattle Times also reported
under the headline, “Gas still burning at site of fatal tanker-truck crash,” by
Brian M. Rosenthal, Nov. 4, 2012. According to the Washington State Patrol,
either drugs or alcohol were involved in a crash early Sunday that killed the
tanker driver and also injured four others. The accident site blocked all
southbound lanes of the freeway for hours.
This reminds me of a recent
Campbell case that required extensive medical services, not to mention a lot of Campbell auto repair services to boot. Apparently a
control of the car he was driving and hit the freeway barrier, then another car
hit the first vehicle, and the tanker truck crashed into that car and veered off
the roadway, rolled over and caught fire, the State Patrol reported.
Speed And/Or Alcohol May Have Had
Role In Fatal Car Accident
It would be
interesting to see how it would change things if people didn’t drink
and drive or speed. In another recent harrowing case, in New Bedford, a passenger, John Pinho, 53,
died in the
car that Mark Medeiros, 49, also of New Bedford was driving at 12:28 a.m. last
Sunday, November 4, 2012. The accident happened south of Exit 5 on Route 140,
according to a police press release and speed, alcohol are being investigated as
possible factors. Medeiros was driving a Nissan 350Z, and was heading north on
Route 140 when he veered off the roadway, rolled over and jumped the median,
landing on the southbound side of the highway, a preliminary police
The Aftermath Of The Accident According to reports in the media, driver Mark Medeiros
was transported by air to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He suffered with
severe injuries, and spokeswoman Gail Francis reported that he remains in
serious condition and will need an auto repair as well..
