I was terminated from my job due to a sexual harassment issue. At first the company was on my side, or I thought, an investigation was done and the doctor was fired (one week after he started). Then the people that I thought were on my side (managers, supervisors, etc.), started changing my job around. Co-workers started being rude and not talking to me. Then I started getting into trouble with complaints about my performance. My position at the clinic where I worked changed and my supervisor started sending me to other clinics sometimes as far away as 2 hours from my house. Everywhere I went everyone knew about all the incidents that had happened and I was referred to as "so your the one." All this has left me as feeling very uneasy as I was never to speak about the incident again. I feel my reputation as a nurse is ruined, what can I do?
What type of lawyer do I need to file a sexual harassment case against my ex-boss? I resigned due to his consistent sexual advances and discomforting touching. Thank you.
An employee(s) has filed a grievance against me regarding management intimidation and sexual harassment. The labor union has filed the complaint on behalf of the employee(s) and an investigation has been started. I have not seen the claim nor know anything more then what I have listed. I would like to know my rights in response to this and what the process of investigation entails. I work for the government and the employee(s) belong to the teamsters union. I would like to talk with someone who can advise me in my rights or represent me in this matter. My job, as well as my personal and professional reputation, is at stake here. I should be able to know what the claim involves or what the allegations are in order to defend myself.
(08-MAY-06) My girlfriend is being sexually harassed by the president of the company. What should she do in the meantime while she is waiting to contact a lawyer? It is an Italian company and there really is no Human Resource Department and there is no one over him.
(27-MAR-06) A meeting was held with upper staff members and myself concerning sexual harassment filed against me by an assistant manager at my workplace. The meeting resulted in her being transferred to a different location with a weeks pay deducted, but keeping her title as assistant manager. I was assured that I wouldn't, and shouldn't, have any problems from anyone including the assistant manager. I was told by them that their lawyers evaluated the information complied during the investigation, and concluded that she needed to be fired to protect the company from further matters. They didn't fire her. Weeks later she returned to the store where I was still working, with manager not asking her to leave and not to return, nor did she report that the assistant manager that had been removed came to the store several times while I was working. I didn't want to cause a scene so I didn't say anything to her about being there. But it made me feel very uncomfortable, unsafe, irritated, and angry.
(20-FEB-06) I was just fired from my position as a certified nurse's assistant at a nursing home. The reason I was given was that I defamed a supervisor. What I had done was report a "possible" sexual harassment situation to my Director of nurses and the nursing home administrator. All I said was that it was brought to my attention and as a mandatory reporter I felt it my job to let them know. I am not the only one who knows about the alleged situation but I am the only one who reported it can I be fired for this?
(21-NOV-00) Workers have laws that protect them from sexual harassment in the
workplace. Are there laws that protect students from sexual harassment from
other students in their "workplace" at school?
(11-SEP-00) If a woman chooses to work in a restaurant which requires its female
employees to wear tight clothing, does the employee accept sexual harassment
on the job?
(08-NOV-99) What do you need to do to file a complaint for sexual harassment? What steps
do you need to take to ensure that an employer will stop and will not
continue to sexually harass me or anyone else?
(28-JUN-99) I have an attorney representing me in a work related sexual harassment case. I am not pleased with her performance. It has been 4 and 1/2 years since the case began and she continues to push it to the side to devote time to other matters. Can I find another attorney or am I stuck with her deplorable performance and lack of concern?
(01-MAR-99) Some years after an employee has been working, her employer asks that she read and sign an employee handbook. There is no information as to how the handbook may have differed from the original. She later files suit under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, alleging retaliation for her sexual harassment claims. Based upon a clause in the handbook, the employer filed a motion to stay the proceedings, claiming that the employee was prohibited from bringing a court action until her Title VII claim was arbitrated. Must the Title VII claim be arbitrated?
(09-NOV-98) How do you legally file a complaint of sexual harassment? What steps would I need to take to make sure that my employer will not do this kind of thing again? I want to keep them from hurting me or anyone else in the future.
