    Please make an appointment using INFOPASS via the USCIS web page. A limited number of persons can be seen on a walk-in basis though these visits should be limited to emergencies only.

    Accepted forms of payment:
    Certified check, money order, or personal check (which must be accompanied with a government issued picture ID); no cash.

    New Orleans District Office:

    • I-765: Must be filed with the office that the record is maintained. Processing times are between 30-90 days. Renewals must be processed 30 days before its expiration.
    • I-131: You must submit your application to: Application for Travel Document, USCIS, US Department of Homeland Security, PO Box 805887, Chicago, IL 60680-4120. This information must be presented at least 30 days before intended travel.
    • If emergency travel authorization is needed, you must call the Information Officer at 1 800 375 5283 from 8 AM - 6 PM, M-F

    Additional Information - Notes

    • Change of address for naturalization (N 400) may be completed over the phone (1-800-375-5283), everyone else must use the form and send it to the office where their application is pending.
    • Fingerprints notices are sent after you have applied. You will be notified as to which Application Support Center to go to and when.
    • Sub Offices generally are used for appointment purposes only, usually not to file applications, but check the specific application procedures.
