    Locations, Hours and Payment - USCIS District Office(s)

    Service Area:
    The state of Massachusetts (NOTE: The MA District office has jurisdiction over it's Sub-Offices however, all matters of those in CT should be addressed with the Hartford Sub-Office.)

    Hours open to the public:
    7 AM - 2 PM, M-F (closed every 3rd Friday of the month) Cashier hours: 8 AM - 2 PM, M0F (closed every 3rd Friday of the month)

    Appointments:
    Please make an appointment using INFOPASS via the USCIS web page. Walk-ins will be allowed on a very limited basis. Walk-ins are first come first served. Walk-ins may have to wait several hours.

    Accepted forms of payment:
    Money order only

    Appointments:
    Please make an appointment using INFOPASS via the USCIS web page. Walk-ins will be allowed on a very limited basis for emergencies.

    Accepted forms of payment:
    certified check, money order, or personal check (which must be accompanied by proper valid ID). No second party checks are accepted.

    Boston District Office:

    • I-485 (FAMILY BASED ONLY) and all other applications filed in conjunction or separately (I-130, I-131, I-765) must be MAILED to the Chicago Lockbox at:
        US Citizenship and Immigration Services
        PO Box 805887
        Chicago, IL 60680-4120
    • I-765: If this application has been pending for more than 90 days, you can make an INFOPASS appointment (Note: this is only for interim employment authorization).
    • I-131 (Advanced Parole): If the I-485 is pending at the Boston District Office, you must apply for Advanced Parole by MAIL to:

    • Accepts in PERSON only: I-90 to replace a lost, damaged, or incorrect I-551
    • Accepts by MAIL or PERSON (if in person, need an INFOPASS appointment):
      • I-821 with I-765
      • N-300
      • N-470
      • N-565
      • N-600
    • All adoption forms (I-600 and I-600A) must be MAILED to the Boston District Office (as of 3/1/04)
    • All I-485 and applications filed in conjunction (I-131 and I-765) must be MAILED to:
        US Citizenship and Immigration Services
        PO Box 805887
        Chicago, IL 60680-4120
    • I-131 (Travel Authorization): For emergency travel, you must apply in PERSON and bring documentary evidence of the emergency. Processing times vary.

    Additional Information - Notes

    • Change of address for naturalization (N 400) may be completed over the phone (1-800-375-5283), everyone else must use the form and send it to the office where their application is pending.
    • Fingerprints notices are sent after you have applied. You will be notified as to which Application Support Center to go to and when.
    • Sub Offices generally are used for appointment purposes only, usually not to file applications, but check the specific application procedures.
