| Alan S. Kopit Biography |
Alan Kopit is the legal editor of lawyers.com, the free online attorney database from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell®. He has contributed columns to the site, focusing on consumer and small business legal issues, and also has appeared on-air on a range of live television programming.
Articulate, authoritative and frank, Alan's extensive media commentary background has made him a highly-visible and widely-respected legal advocate. A partner at Cleveland-based law firm Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, Alan practices in a range of consumer law areas. Alan has been a member of the Cleveland Bar Association since 1977, and served as President from 1996-97. His membership in the American Bar Association dates back to 1977 as well, the same year he joined Hahn Loeser & Parks.
In 1988, Alan earned the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service, following his exemplary turn as a White House Fellow in the Reagan Administration from 1987-88.
As a member of REDBOOK magazine's Love Network advisory board, Alan serves as a resource to couples on an array of legal issues.
