91 Percent Traffic Increase to lawyers.com

Lawyers.com Visitor Traffic Increases 91% in Fourth Quarter, Stretching Lead as #1 Attorney Directory on the Web for Consumers and Small Businesses

Site's Traffic Growth Continues in 2004 as it Crosses Milestone of 1 Million Searches for Lawyers in a Single Month in January

New Providence, NJ - Press Release - March 10, 2004 - Unique visitor traffic to lawyers.com in the fourth quarter of 2003 increased by 91 percent over the same period in the prior year, according to Nielsen//NetRatings, a global Internet audience measurement and analysis service. The increase has extended lawyers.com's lead as the most visited lawyer directory on the Internet by consumers and small business professionals.

Lawyers.com is operated by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, the leading client development company for the legal profession. The substantial traffic growth in late-2003 was fueled by the syndication of Martindale-Hubbell's lawyer and law firm profiles to some of the world's most widely used Web sites, such as Switchboard and Citysearch, and the strengthening of partnerships with MSN and AOL.

"The strong growth in the number of visitors to lawyers.com in the fourth quarter of 2003 is great news for Martindale-Hubbell customers because they are now seeing nearly twice as much traffic to their listings - and twice as many prospective clients - as they were a year ago," said Joseph Douress, vice president of business development and marketing at New Providence, N.J.-based LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. "We're also encouraged that we have extended our lead as the most popular destination on the Web for individuals seeking information about lawyers and law firms. As Internet usage continues to grow worldwide, lawyers.com is well-positioned as a leading consumer resource for finding, evaluating and selecting a lawyer."

According to Douress, the momentum from the strong fourth quarter carried into 2004. In January, lawyers.com was searched more than 1 million times for an attorney, the first time the site has crossed that milestone in a single month.
